Latest product release: Bottleneck Score, Visualizations, Presets

We are thrilled to introduce the latest QPR ProcessAnalyzer release which unlocks the power of the Bottleneck Score, introduces two new and exciting Visualizations, and improves ease-of-use with new cutting-edge Presets i.e., out-of-the-box analyses!

We have introduced a powerful new feature called the Bottleneck Score that automatically identifies the most influential bottlenecks in your processes. On top of this, the newly introduced Presets help you to prioritize the bottlenecks based on their impact on your end-to-end process execution.

Process owners and data analysts alike will rejoice to hear that we have extended the already long list of chart visualizations with the Sankey and Gantt visualizations. This allows users to follow the details of individual cases with a Gantt chart and analyze the relationship between different entities like sales teams and products using a Sankey chart.

In total more than ten new Presets for different use cases such as Operational Excellence and Compliance . Presets are ready-made analysis configurations that help you to create even the most difficult analyses with a click of a button. Presets together with our no-coding capabilities make QPR ProcessAnalyzer the most user-friendly process mining software on the market!

Unlock the Power of the Bottleneck Score

QPR's Bottleneck Score feature allows organizations to easily identify their most significant process bottlenecks with a simple click. Bottleneck Score is calculated based on the variance of process execution times.

The Bottleneck Score is available as a no-code feature for the Flowchart and Chart elements. It can be applied to any custom-made analysis or dashboard. This release also introduces new Presets using the Bottleneck Score, allowing users access to ready-made Bottleneck Score analyses!

Below we show you three new Presets using the Bottleneck Score so you can see how it looks like:

Bottleneck Analysis for Flowchart

  • Each Event Type has a Bottleneck Score.
  • Event Types are colored based on their Bottleneck Score (bright red marks the highest score, the largest bottleneck).
  • Users can instantly identify which process activities are bottlenecks and where in the process they occur.

Process Bottleneck Discovery

  • Lists all the Event Types in the process and their Bottleneck Scores.
  • Quantifies the business impact by determining the amount of time lost due to each bottleneck in the process execution.
  • Analyzes how much looping the Event Type includes.

Process Bottleneck Priority List

  • Analyzes Bottlenecks based on their impact to the entire end-to-end process.
  • The Bottleneck Score is higher if the event occurs often in the process.
  • Calculates how much time is lost by each bottleneck in the process execution.
  • Prioritizes bottlenecks based on the total time lost due to the bottlenecks.

Even better data visualization with Sankey

The Sankey visualization brings more possibilities to represent data in easy-to-digest format.

The traditional way to use a Sankey visualization would be to look at the relationship between two case attributes like in the below picture.

QPR has extended the usage of Sankey charts with ready-made analyses for process rework and SLA adherence. You can find these analyses as Presets in the Operational Excellence category when using the Big Data Charts and apply them with a single click!

Rework Occurrence by Case Attribute

  • Analyzes the proportion of process rework.
  • Shows how each part of the business corresponds to process rework.
  • Ease-of-use by dynamic rework activity selection.

2023.4_sankey_rework

Impact of Rework on SLA Success

  • Analyzes if process rework causes SLA failures.
  • Users can define the SLA rule and see automatic SLA Success Analysis.
  • Rework Analysis is automatically created based on the selected activities.
  • Relationship analysis between SLA Adherence and Rework

Gantt brings the details forward

The Gantt visualization is likely familiar from project management, but it is also an excellent tool for process analysis. This is especially true when you want to deep-dive into a few selected cases. It also is a great addition for those who like to analyze project or program execution!

One use case of the Gantt chart in process mining is to analyze an individual case on a detailed level. This allows users to easily see the stage of the case at a specific time.

The same method works wonders for project management if the process model is focused on projects!

When this analysis is done in the social mining context, it’s easy to analyze who or which team was working on the case at a given time.

Complex analyses ready with a single click with the new Presets

More than ten new Presets have been introduced for the Big Data Charts! These Presets focus on Operational Excellence and Compliance use cases.

On the Operational Excellence Preset category, the focus is on the already presented Bottleneck Score based analyses and on the different analyses done with the Sankey visualization.

The Compliance Preset category focuses on SLA adherence analyses as well as on-time event execution analyses. Examples of both are presented below.

SLA Compliance

  • Analyzes the number of cases adhering and failing the defined SLA.
  • SLA can be easily defined by the user with a couple of clicks.
  • In case one of the selected events is missing, a “N/A” value is presented.

SLA Compliance Trend

  • Shows SLA adherence results as a trend over time.
  • Columns are colored based on the number of cases adhering to the SLA.
  • Users can define the SLA rule with a couple of clicks on the user interface.

Non-compliant Order of Event Execution

  • Analyzes whether two events occur in an incorrect order or not.
  • Users can define the appropriate order of events from the selections on the user interface.
  • In case one of the selected events is missing, a “N/A” value is presented.

On-time Event Execution Analysis

  • Analyzes whether the selected activities are executed in the correct order and within the specified time frame.
  • Offers users a simple and effortless method to establish a typically complex KPI without the need for any coding skills.
  • Early execution limit defines how much in advance the “Start event” activity can be done.
  • Late execution limit defines what is the grace period for the “End event” activity.
  • The analysis dynamically changes based on the selected events and grace period values.
