QPR Software partner TOCH Consulting is bringing a practical enterprise perspective to the changing role of Process Intelligence — from process improvement and performance management to AI, operational context and enterprise architecture.
In a new expert interview published by QPR, Gary Chitan, Founder of TOCH Consulting, shares his views on how Process Mining and Process Intelligence have evolved, what AI is changing, and what organisations should consider when choosing a Process Intelligence platform.
With more than 20 years of experience across Process Management, Data Management and business transformation, Chitan has worked with organisations including Novartis, Barclays and Nestlé. Today, TOCH Consulting helps leadership teams use Process Intelligence to uncover inefficiency, quantify its business impact and turn insight into action.
According to Chitan, one of the biggest changes in the market is that Process Mining is moving beyond discovery and analysis.
“Process Mining has stopped being only a discovery tool and has started becoming a context layer between data, process and action.”
As AI becomes part of everyday enterprise operations, that context is becoming increasingly important. Transactional data can show how work actually flows across systems and teams, where bottlenecks and exceptions occur, and where AI could create measurable value. Process Intelligence can then help organisations understand whether those interventions are delivering the expected results.
The discussion also highlights the role of architecture. Chitan argues that Process Intelligence should not become another isolated technology layer, but should fit naturally alongside Business Intelligence, data management, process management, automation and AI.
TOCH Consulting has chosen QPR ProcessAnalyzer as its Process Intelligence platform based on what Chitan describes as four key factors: experience, architecture, vision and commercial value.
He highlights QPR’s long-standing experience in process management, its approach to analysing data where it resides, and the ability of QPR ProcessAnalyzer to run natively on Snowflake for organisations using Snowflake as their data foundation.
Chitan also points to QPR’s recognition as a Visionary in the 2026 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Process Intelligence Platforms for the fourth consecutive year as an indication of the company’s direction in Process Intelligence, AI and operational context.
For TOCH, the commercial model is equally important.
“I want to deliver senior expertise and measurable business value without building large teams or creating unnecessary technology costs for clients. QPR gives me a platform I can deploy in that model, with a cost structure that makes the economics of Process Intelligence much easier to justify.”
The full interview explores five questions spanning the evolution of Process Intelligence, the role of dashboards, AI and context, platform selection and TOCH Consulting’s decision to work with QPR.
