Check Your Process Conformance with QPR ProcessAnalyzer 2018.3

As the Process Mining Year 2018 continues, so does the development of QPR ProcessAnalyzer. In our latest release, there is a brand-new feature that creates more possibilities for process analysis.

Conformance Checking

Having processes conform to your planned optimal processes brings key benefits in terms of operating revenue and process health. Process mining helps to make each process conform to the designed ideal. In order to see how your process is faring in the current situation, it needs to be compared to the as-designed process. With this in mind, the newest version of QPR ProcessAnalyzer introduces Conformance Checking. Conformance Checking analyzes your process information to see how it adheres to the designed flow, making this analysis an important focus for process mining with QPR ProcessAnalyzer. Conformance Checking uses the BPMN notation data as a basis and compares your as-is process data with the as-designed process. The BPMN notation is inputted into QPR ProcessAnalyzer as a basis for comparison. Using the KPI Expression language, QPR ProcessAnalyzer compares the business rules defined in the notation to your process data. This conformance check can be used in conjunction with different dashboards as the flexible implementation is enabled with the use of KPI Expression language. ChartView has been updated with Conformance Analysis, giving way for a variety of new chart presentations of your Process Conformance Analysis results.

ChartView allows the presentation of reasons why cases are non-conforming.

Modeling your as-designed process is quick and simple with the new version as QPR ProcessAnalyzer 2018.3 comes prebuilt with a BPMN editor within ChartView. This feature empowers users to model their as-designed process using the BPMN notation language. BPMN Editor allows users to create the flowchart with BPMN notation elements which will be used as a basis for the Conformance Checking. As the tool is BPMN compatible, it creates the XML-based notation automatically which is compliant with the BPMN standard. If you need to have your notation exported, that is also supported through the interface. Just click on the save button and your BPMN design will be saved on your hard drive. The BPMN Editor supports importing of existing BPMN files that have been designed in an external modeling system such as QPR EnterpriseArchitect. The BPMN Editor offers a great end-to-end solution for creating a basis for Conformance Checking.

New steppers make setting flowchart visibility settings more efficient.

Flowchart Analysis

Flowchart Analysis is one of the major features of QPR ProcessAnalyzer and provides key insights into how the process is carried out. Using the data model as a basis, Flowchart Analysis automatically creates a visualization of your as-is process and all the possible process deviations that occur in your operations. One of the key functionalities in Flowchart Analysis has been the option to select which flows and which event types are shown above a certain threshold. This creates a process representation that shows the exact amount of event types and flows that the user wants. In this release, we updated the look and feel of the Flowchart Visibility Settings to make them more user friendly and with a more efficient screen footprint. New stepper selections have been added for more simple adjustments of the threshold values, making way for a smoother user experience. In addition to a gradual increase and decrease using the buttons, a value can be inserted for a customized flowchart setting.

These additions are a great improvement and provide our users with new ways to get insights into how their process performs.  Interested in hearing more or see how it works in practice?
