Advanced Data-Driven Process Analysis with QPR ProcessAnalyzer 2018.4

As Process Mining year of 2018 moves forward,​ QPR ProcessAnalyzer 2018.4 takes the leading process mining product forward. Striving to keep the data-driven process analysis further, this new release focuses on databases and data model related features. The new release also includes KPI analysis, which brings instant data-driven chart visualizations straight into QPR ProcessAnalyzer

Process Mining is a data-oriented methodology where operational data is used to create a visual representation and analysis for improvement of the whole business process as a whole. As operational data is easily accumulated, the data needs to be stored in various different databases. As a lot of data is being stored from different systems to various different database systems, a need for a common language or interface arises. How is it possible to achieve this? The answer comes in the form of ODBC that stands for Open Database Connectivity. ODBC opens a diverse interface for software to communicate with databases and opens up possibilities for data-driven excellence.

ODBC Connectivity

The ODBC connectivity feature in QPR ProcessAnalyzer adds a new functionality to the ETL suite found in the product. Using the open connection to major database systems, QPR ProcessAnalyzer is able to automatically extract data from a specified data source. What's even better, this can be done every time the model is loaded, creating an on-demand, real-time model with up-to-date data. This is done by defining a data source for use by QPR ProcessAnalyzer. As ODBC is an open format, it can be a separate file, a separate data table or just a database. Mapping is done using JSON which gives great customization options for specifying which parts of the data source to use. Implementing the ODBC functionality adds a new level of real-time analysis where the most up-to-date data is needed. Just plug into the database and have the latest data for your analysis.

KPI Analysis

One of the biggest additions to QPR ProcessAnalyzer this year has been the KPI expression engine. This engine allows for a robust use of KPI data to create KPI calculations based on the data stored in QPR ProcessAnalyzer models. We have previously introduced the ChartView function which uses this engine to create visual representations of KPI-based analysis. With this release, we move forward with the KPI engine improvements as we are introducing KPI Analysis as part of QPR ProcessAnalyzer. This allows for quick implementation of customized charts into your process analysis views, as the KPI Analysis uses the improved KPI expression engine for even faster analysis results. The KPI Analysis functionality is based on ChartView and is fully in touch with all the analysis features found in QPR ProcessAnalyzer.
