QPR Software offers New, Powerful Desktop Process Modeling and Analysis Software with introductory offer for just 288 Euro
10 March 2009

Helsinki, Finland. March 10, 2009. QPR Software Plc, a leader in the market for Business Process Modeling and Analysis software, today announced the availability QPR ProcessGuide Xpress 8 at an introductory price of only 288 Euros. The move offers process, quality and compliance professionals a dedicated and more effective means for designing, documenting and maintaining process information than the generic business graphics tools they often are forced to work with.

The new QPR ProcessGuide Xpress 8 is a powerful desktop Business Process Modeling and Analysis tool, aimed at business professionals that seek an effective means for designing, improving, documenting and communicating business processes. Up until now, due to the steep learning curve and costly license fees characteristic to process modeling tools, business users were left with no other option than choosing an alternative in the form of drawing tools. QPR ProcessGuide Xpress 8 changes this as it offers professional modeling tool functionality in a package that is as easy to use as the Office tools that business users are familiar with and at a 288 Euros introduction price that is even lower than most business graphics drawing environments.

The new version offers a more effective ribbon-based user interface as introduced by Microsoft Office 2007, which provides users with faster access to tool functionality as well as to the property information of process elements. Other key improvements include the ability to create custom, editable hierarchy views of all the used assets in the process model and built-in integration with Microsoft Office SharePoint Server, which allows users to link content hosted on SharePoint, such as quality documentation, task lists or multi-media-based content with model elements on process maps.

Unlike business graphics tools that provide users with the ability to create a collection of isolated process maps, QPR ProcessGuide Xpress 8 captures process information as a process repository-based file. This allows users to reuse modeled objects on multiple, connected process maps and be more effective in developing and maintaining process information. Support for both bottom-up and top-down design approaches furthermore provides users with a more convenient approach to developing and maintaining process information as users are not required to start over when having to change the hierarchical structure of documented processes.

“The effort needed to capture and especially maintain process documentation poses a major bottleneck for many that use tools targeted at creating just drawings of flowcharts rather than integrated process models,” says Jari Jaakkola, CEO of QPR Software. “With QPR ProcessGuide Xpress 8 we now offer them a much more convenient and affordable way to develop and maintain process information with a price of standard, but less sophisticated business drawing tool. This brings professional process modeling and analysis tool available to many who could
not have access to them earlier.”

“The use of QPR ProcessGuide Xpress enabled us at an affordable price to map our processes, integrate projects, visualize and understand how we work, identify the critical operations, as well as the best opportunities for improvement” Carlos Carbonell from Simán Constructora, S.A., a QPR ProcessGuide Xpress customer, comments.

QPR ProcessGuide Xpress can be downloaded for free for a 14-day evaluation period. A special introduction campaign that is valid until May 31, 2009, offers QPR ProcessGuide Xpress 8 single user license at a price of 288 Euros.  The normal price is 495 Euros.
