In their latest report titled "Best Practices: Implementing a Governance, Risk and Compliance Program" (October 7, 2008), Forrester Research turned to QPR Software among a select group of other vendors for information on QPR’s vision related to the topic. As one of the leading GRC vendors QPR highlighted, among other things, the importance of business and performance driven approach to GRC.
QPR’s CEO, Mr. Jari Jaakkola finds QPR’s vision for Risk Management and compliance to be clearly aligned with Forrester’s suggestion for best practice:
“We think that organizations should track risk and performance metrics side by side. The value of GRC is ultimately the ability to maximize business performance and value within the boundaries of risk thresholds and legal mandates. You can realize this value by setting and analyzing performance metrics and risk metrics of specific operations, business units, or what-if scenarios based on future potential”, he says and continues:
“For example, in an outsourcing case tracking cost savings, performance benefits, and associated risks in the same system offers context to make a more informed decision. The user can evaluate and project how those metrics might change by expanding the scope of the relationship.”
As a customer best practice leader QPR identified African Rainbow Minerals (ARM) to be interviewed for their experiences of using QPR’s RMC solution. In a recently published QPR Customer reference story ARM’s Risk Management Consultant, Mr. Schalk Lubbe commented QPR RMC tool as following:
“Since African Rainbow Minerals started using QPR as a Risk Management tool, the time it took to prepare our risk reports for both the Risk Managers at the Mine and the respective Underwriting companies, has reduced dramatically. The quality of Risk Reporting inside the organization has also improved. QPR has helped us to evaluate and monitor risk issues in our business and enabled us to manage the threats in a cost effective manner.”
